Road trip approaches

I'm still planning my road trip. For those of you wondering what I'm talking about, you can read about it here. I've had a few ideas of places I wanted to visit. As I mentioned it the other day to someone, I realized how close it is. I'm really getting excited.

On my list is : Kamloops, White Rock, Lilly Point, Seattle, Butchart Gardens and possibly Lynn Canyon
Of course there will be many points in between and on the way home, but so far these, are a must.

My mind is whirring with ideas of what to bring, what I want to experience, what I want to eat, all the firsts I will accomplish, and how much planning I want to do ahead of time. I mean the whole point is to "wing it", be free, make decisions on the fly.But I certainly don't want to miss any of my MUSTS, because I spent too much time in a one place or another. It's only a week, and I know it will fly by.

The excitement hadn't really hit me, until yesterday.A  friend told me of a place called Lilly Point, and posted a picture, I thought..." I can go there!" I can go wherever I want. Hello! Light bulb!

Of course all this excitement is not overshadowing the nervousness I'm also experiencing. I've never gone anywhere for a week by myself. I don't think I've ever stayed home for a week by myself either. I mean I will see friends along the way, but essentially I'm on my own. Just typing that, excites me. I LOVE firsts. Makes me feel alive. I'm looking forward to talking with people, hearing their stories, seeing new things, trying new food, overcoming a few fears, and generally fending for myself.  I'll have my phone with me, so I'll always be in touch, when I want to, or feel I have to. I'm sure my family will want me to check in, every once in a while. I know my kids will miss me and want to say hello now and again.

You can bet my stereo will be getting a work out on this trip too. Can't have a road trip without tunes. Songs to sing loudly with, songs for just listening, songs for crying to, and of course songs for drumming on the steering wheel. THAT I will plan ahead!

So you see the area I'm headed. Do you have any ideas for me? Places to visit, places to eat, places to sleep? I welcome your suggestions.

Getting my groove back

Been in a funk. Ain't gonna lie. Since the summer ended I felt like so many things were over and the doom was settling in. I LOVE summer!(check this out summertime.) The only thing on my mind was "getting out of Dodge!" I could focus on nothing else. It's still on  my mind. A LOT! But something has changed. I feel a sense of calm. I feel like things are working out the way they are supposed to. I have faith in the process again. The fog has lifted and I can see what's in front of me. I didn't get to this spot on my own, and to those who helped me get here,(you know who you are), I am grateful.

I spent the day with my BFF yesterday and it was just like old times. We laughed a lot and talked and talked. It was just what I needed. As she said in her card to me, "thank goodness for social media"! It keeps us closer on a daily basis, since she moved away. It's wonderful to still have her in my life. She also knows me well and gives great gifts.......(Thank you!)

It also didn't hurt that I happened to find a new dress for the staff Christmas party this weekend and a sweet pair of (cheap) boots! Made my MONTH!

Oh yes I DID!

I also got in a visit with my good friend Arlee. Coffee in the afternoon and a chance to hug a few of her kids (she has 6) was long overdue! She's wonderfully talented, and has her own blog (Small potatoes) where she writes about running a day home, the food she prepares(AWESOME), and the pictures she takes. Did I mention she's a photographer too??? YA! she does it all. So after finding some peppermint "stir sticks" for cocoa, I felt the need to return for a quick visit to give them to her; before heading home.

All the way home I played my music LOUD! Not sappy love songs, not Christmas songs; but heart thumping get me moving fast songs! It got the adrenaline flowing and somewhere along the way, my mood went from "whoa is me" to "WOW is me"! I feel revitalized today and have gotten my groove back just in time for Christmas!!! WOOT! Couldn't have asked for a better Christmas gift. I'm sure my family will agree! ;P

So enough on the computer for a while. i have things to do, places to go and people to see! Life is short people! Don't wait for things to happen. MAKE them happen! Ciao for now!

Adele

Just wanted to let you know that spring is just around the corner!!!!

I have heard her music before. The first song I ever heard her sing was Chasing Pavements.  I saw a video not too long ago, of her being interviewed and then singing. Then I heard another new song and I think to myself.......I'm gonna check this girl out a little more.....!This song playing is my current favorite. The louder the better!!!!! I'm so infatuated with her voice. I just can't get enough. I subsequently bought 2 of her albums and am currently downloading them onto my iPhone and iPod!!!!I'm so excited to have her in my life!!! lol  Just thought I would share! When I'm excited ....I share!
