I want it NOW

HERE is what it's all about!(I have shared this link before but maybe we need to read it again?) Things in life worth waiting for, actually take time. We've become a society of immediate gratification. Patience is really a thing of the past. I see it everywhere. (or lack of) Small children who call "mommy" only once on twice before their mom responds to them ~ regardless of what she is doing. Must respond NOW! My own children who are hungry and want supper NOW. Who have been told that school is almost done, want it NOW. Getting something new? Want it NOW. Even when we watch t.v. we have become accustomed to our PVR and quite often turn OFF the t.v. when we've switched back to LIVE. We want to do things in our own time, on our own terms. With the technology that's out there today, a lot of this is possible. We did a flash mob in town the other day and that evening, a friend was looking for it on youtube and fb. It wasn't up yet. He was slightly annoyed. Don't scoff. you know you've been there. Looking for some pics that a friend was going to put up; and they still aren't! We are sooooo impatient. I'm so guilty of it too! When I wake up in the morning and decide that today is going to be a good day, that I will eat healthy, exercise and get some sun........I'm disappointed at the end of the day that I haven't already lost 20lbs. It's so unfair!!!! LOL I'm not saying we should go back to our old ways. Progress is good. I believe that. I'm thankful for the things that allow me more free time to spend as I like. I appreciate satisfying my curiosity with the click of a mouse.I like getting what I want when I want it. Who doesn't?????????? But in all this hurrying, we are forgetting to appreciate the things that DO take time. Things that can't be hurried with technology or money, or willingness to accommodate, are precious and deserve some respect. This is where the law of gradual process comes in! It's been in my face the past couple of days and I'm a slow learner when it comes to things like that. I'm trying to slow my life down a little and appreciate the things that take time, like growing old, losing weight, and developing long relationships!  Have some patience this weekend and enjoy the things that come slowly! See you Monday!
